Internship Features
Spanish Marks is connected to a database of fully vetted organisations in Guatemala, offering well-defined internships. Each internship involves:

How it works
Each placement is organised individually according to your goals and skills. Particiants should be familiar with their chosen internship field and know Spanish to intermediate level. A minimum of 3 months commitment is needed, giving you more responsibility and often the flexibility to pursue your own projects.
Flexible start dates with 25 one-to-one online Spanish lessons included.

We believe in keeping our pricing as low as possible and avoiding unnecessary fees.
We aim to make a positive impact in Guatemala, and work hands-on with local charities. Our co-founder, Rustom, sits on the board of one of the charities in our partner-network, Asociacion Fatima.

{slider-grpstp=Step 2: Receive tailored intern options}
Following your call with a placement advisor, we will send you internship opportunities tailored to your interests and skills. All placements are with fully-vetted and established NGOs, charities and social enterprises.
{slider-grpstp=Step 3: Take interview }
The informal interview allows us to get to know you better, and make sure the placement is the right one for you and the host organisation. It is also a chance for you to ask any questions. Once we are comfortable that the placement is right for you, your placement advisor will send you an offer and internship proposal.

A deposit of £60 will be required in order to secure the internship position. The remaining balance is payable within 30 days of receiving your proposal.
{slider-grpstp=Step 5: Take Spanish lessons}
25 x one-to-one online Spanish lessons with a fully qualified teacher from our school, Spanish Marks. Lessons are taken through an online classroom where you can see and speak to your teacher. You can learn from any location convenient for you and lessons can be arranged to fit your schedule. They must be taken before you leave for Guatemala.

Meet face-to-face with us in London before you set out. This is an opportunity to meet our staff and ask any questions you may have. You will also be given information on Guatemala, including specific placement information and general country information such as excursions and in-country contact details.

Get to know your neighbourhood and learn the ropes before starting your placement. This will be held in the city of Quetzaltenango.
