Why Volunteer in Guatemala
Join a volunteer placement abroad in Guatemala and experience a country of immense beauty, from soaring volcanoes to ancient Mayan ruins.
However, poverty is widespread, and we connect volunteers with organisations dedicated to the development of Guatemala.
Volunteer any time of the year with 25 online Spanish lessons included.

How it works
We will get in touch with you to understand your goals and interests. Our placement advisors will then put together a selection of 5 volunteering options tailored individually for you. It is also important organisations receive volunteers who have the right skills to make a tangible difference.
25 x one-to-one online Spanish lessons included.
Taken before you leave for your trip!
Ethical Volunteering Abroad
We believe in keeping our pricing as low as possible and avoiding unnecessary fees.
We aim to make a positive impact in Guatemala & work hands-on with local charities. Our co-founder, Rustom, is on the board of directors of charity, Asociacion Fatima, in our partner-network.
Step 1: Fill in the enquiry form
Please note that this is a no-obligation enquiry form. Fill out details below and we will contact you to discuss our projects and your goals.
Step 2: Pay deposit if you decide to go ahead
After your call with a Placement Advisor, you will be given the choice of whether you would like us to put together a selection of 5 volunteering options organised around your specific interests. If you would like to go ahead, a non-refundable deposit of £60.00 is taken. This covers the cost of putting together your proposal and for the pre-departure support. Please note this does not tie you into committing to the project or paying the remaining balance.
Step 3: Choose from 5 tailored positions
We will send you a choice of 5 volunteering opportunities uniquely tailored to your needs. All placements are with fully-vetted and established NGOs, charities and social enterprises.
Step 4: Take Spanish lessons
All volunteers will be given 25 one-to-one Spanish lessons with a fully qualified teacher from our school, Spanish Marks. Each lesson is 50 minutes long and is taken through an online classroom where you can see and speak to your teacher. You can learn from any location convenient for you and lessons can be arranged to fit around your schedule. They should be taken before you leave for Guatemala.
Step 5: Pre-departure meeting
Meet face-to-face with us in London, before you set out to Guatemala. This is an opportunity to meet our staff and discuss any questions you may have. You will also be given information about Guatemala, including specific placement information and general country information such as excursions and in-country contact details.
Step 6: Welcome induction in Guatemala
Get to know your neighbourhood and learn the ropes before starting your placement. This will be held in the city of Quetzaltenango.
